Masala chai is an important element of Indian cuisine. In the long menu of Indian foods, beverages are immensely used and enjoyed along with snacks as well as after-meals.
- 1 ½ piece cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds or ground cardamom
- 5 peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 5 teaspoons black tea
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
- 2 ½ cups water
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- Brown sugar to taste
- Salt to taste
Grind cardamom, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, and fennel seeds. Allow the milk to simmer in saucepan. Now stir in brown sugar, spice mixture, ginger and salt. Reduce the lame and let it simmer. Keep on stirring off and again.
Then in another saucepan bring water to a boil. Now add tea and boil for one min. Now pour it in hot milk through a strainer. Let it boil for a minute then remove it from stove.
Serve hot after stirring.
